The successful candidate will work within the Connected Aircraft Systems Division of Collins Aerospace as an integration test and communications systems engineer within the GLOBALink air-to-ground communications service.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with a small team of engineers responsible for the performance of protocol, systems, and performance testing of aircraft VHF, HF, Satellite and IP data link communications systems to ensure the equipment is compliant with industry standards and compatible with our GLOBALink service.
  • Support the development of new aircraft rigs, write test plans & procedures documents, conduct tests, prepare written reports, and maintain an ongoing relationship with avionics manufacturers to schedule testing and resolve equipment compatibility issues.
  • Provide systems engineering and technical support to our airline customers for the activation of new data link systems or the diagnosis of equipment problems on the operational network.
  • Blend a developing knowledge of communications protocols and aviation-specific applications and work with multi-disciplined teams to introduce new products and services to the Collins CAS portfolio.

Basic Qualification:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and less than 2 years prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering
  • 1-2 years experience in systems engineering or hardware integration testing.
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Power Point, & Excel
  • Highly motivated self-starter with problem solving abilities and a desire to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and the desire to provide outstanding support to both internal and external customers.
  • Introductory knowledge in data link communications and protocols.
  • Knowledge in aviation systems
