Hey there, school counselors! If you're looking for an exciting summer camp gig, boy do we have the job for you! Easterseals New York, a Fedcap program, is seeking a Summer School Counselor to join our team at Camp Colonie located in Cohoes, NY.

We are looking for someone who can build relationships and collaborate well with others in our nonprofit.
YOUR LIFE AS A SUMMER SCHOOL COUNSELOR
As a member of our evaluation team, you provide comprehensive counseling services for our campers. You conduct school histories with parents or guardians, complete social service assessments, and develop treatment plans to help our campers achieve their short- and long-term social service goals. With this information, you create behavior management programs and conduct play therapy or counseling sessions to ensure our campers are well taken care of.
As the ultimate people person, you build rapport with families and caregivers, providing top-notch recommendations in all relevant interdisciplinary team conferences. Your support covers relevant social, economic, and mental health concerns, and you facilitate educational or parent groups. Plus, you're a pro at maintaining positive working relationships with both inter- and intra-agency sources.
You take your work seriously and conscientiously uphold professional ethics, follow policies and procedures, and continually develop your skills. But above all, you love working with our campers and that's what makes you the perfect fit for this Summer School Counselor position!
This full-time position works during the day from June 26th - August 11th.
