The Research Lab Assistant II performs lab cleaning and maintenance duties including washing and sterilizing glassware, operates autoclaves and other specialized equipment, utilizing special detergents or other cleaning agents. The incumbent will assist with the ordering and maintenance of cleaning supplies inventory, may be trained on the job in basic benchwork under close supervision of Principal Investigator (PI), or other designated laboratory supervisor. This position may oversee or assist Research Lab Assistant I members.
One to two (1-2) years lab experience
Knowledge of basic Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is preferred
Thorough knowledge of routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to support the activity of one or more research labs
Uses specialized equipment and materials
Complies with safety standards and procedures
Ability to be trained in basic benchwork on-the-job
