Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited school of Medicine.
- Pediatrician credentials and licensing.
- Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Louisiana.
- Current Louisiana controlled dangerous substance license.
- Current DEA member.
- Current Medicaid number.
- Current Medicare number.
- Reasoning Ability.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Must be certified in Basic and Advanced Life Support techniques.
- Profession and personal qualities which permits the physician to work with staff of the health center in a manner as to earn their confidence and respect.
- Standing, bending, stooping, lifting, positioning, and sight, auditory, tactile, and olfactory senses.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in Collaborative Agreements with mid-level providers.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after hours, holidays and weekend call.
- Provide direct patient care and be eligible for enrollment in Medicare, Medicaid and private insurances.
- Maintains licenses in good standing in the state of Louisiana.
- Assist with organizing the clinical staff and resources in carrying out the healthcare program.
- Record all patient care in medical records.
- Participate in monthly Peer-Review.
- Serve as the Team Leader in initiating care to critical ill patients, etc., Cardiac or Respiratory arrest.
- Provide recommendations and feedback for end of probation and annual employe evaluations of clinical staff members.
- Serve as a role model for clinical staff.
- Maintain good standing for continuation of hospital privileges as determined by thehospital and provide in-patient care as needed.
- Make recommendations to the Chief Executive Officer regarding the purchase of equipment and supplies needed to provide patient care.
- Maintain CMEs for licensure as required by the Board of Medical Examiners.
- Participate in quality improvement activities to direct the formal quality assurance activities of the organization.
- Document care utilizing diagnosis Codes, SOAP and initiation of a Treatment Plan.
- Review patient laboratory test results.
- Participates in data collection for annual federal grant request and other grant
applications.
- Monitor direct patient care to identify earl opportunities for improvement.
- Work with the staff of the health care center in such a manner as to earn their
confidence and respect.
- Comply with applicable law and fully compliant and cooperate with Compliance
Program.
- Any other assignments deemed necessary.
