By joining our Traffic Engineering and Permits Section in Boone County as a Highway Technician I, you’ll provide support for our Traffic Section of the sign crew in Boone County Traffic Eng. & Permits Section which is responsible for activities such as all sign, striping, delineator installation and maintenance for the District.
Holders of this Job Title will complete tasks such as:
- Operates equipment for snow and ice duties.
- Performs layouts for pavement markings, paint large island, cross hatch markings.
- Installs complex signs and assemblies.
- Responsible for all signs, striping, delineator installations and maintenance for District.
Holders of this job will obtain the following skills:

- Sign maintenance and maintenance techniques
- Traffic Control
Desired candidates possess the following requisite skills or experience applicable to the position:
- Sign installation experience helpful.
- Ability to keep up pace with all sign, striping, and delineator maintenance and installations including federally mandated deadlines for upgrading non standard signs and sign installations.
- Traffic Control
- Work with the public
