General Position Description

The Project Manager (PM) leads the project team and works in partnership with our Field Management to build and deliver a safe, high quality, profitable project. The Project Manager will oversee and manage all phases of project delivery including scope execution, schedule, and budget for environmental remediation construction projects.

This position is responsible for safe work plans, client relations, risk management, cost estimation, contract management, and execution strategy. In addition, the PM is responsible for the business side of the project including managing the full profit and loss, as well as leading client engagement and satisfaction associated with the delivery of the project.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all phases of planning and execution of environmental remediation and/or civil/earthwork projects of moderate to high complexity and risk (typically in excess of $10M).
  • Leads and enforces the safety and quality policies and procedures and addresses non-compliance among all employees, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Supervises daily activities of project personnel including technical and administrative support and ensures that deliverables are produced on schedule and within budget.
  • Utilizes daily huddles to promote communication, resolve issues, and share ideas, so the projects are expeditiously and profitably constructed.
  • Leads the development of the project schedule with the Superintendent and ensures the team is executing to the plan.
  • Maximizes cash flow by aggressively adhering to the project invoicing schedule and ensures the team accurately documents and submits all receivables, quantity as-builts, change orders, and claims.
  • Works to beat the labor and other cost budgets.
  • Produces complete subcontracts and ensures all subcontractors execute to the agreement and the company s standards. Ensures the required documentation is executed in a timely manner.
  • Estimates, prices, and negotiates owner initiated extra work, change of scope items, and contract deletions to maximize profits.
  • Actively develops client relations to generate opportunities for new work.
  • Actively participates in Marketing and Estimating department activities to assist in the development of capture plans, teaming strategies, and the technical approach and bid strategies on pursuits.
  • Represents the company to client and maintains client relationship.
  • 20-25% travel required within NE region of US

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
  • Five or more years of experience as a Project Manager for the remediation of contaminated sites, preferably with CERCLA experience.
  • Experience with excavation, excavation dewatering, and groundwater treatment and management.
  • Five or more years of experience as a Project Manager for Federal projects, preferably USACE, NAVFAC, and USEPA.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex construction projects, subcontractors, and developing and executing innovative project changes.
  • Demonstrated success developing cost to complete, as well as costing, pricing, and tracking Change Orders.
  • Experience with project start-ups, subcontractor and vendor buyouts, and owner estimates.
  • For Security Clearance Requirements – must be a US Citizen, as required.
  • Working knowledge of MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Primavera P6.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crouching, kneeling, crawling or stretching
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
