Position Summary

The Assistant Vice President of Accounting will be responsible for assisting the Vice President of Accounting and providing organized and detail oriented professional services for full cycle accounting support within the Finance division of a growing financial company. They will assist in the supervision, management and coordination of accounting personnel in their charge.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements organizational accounting policies
  • Ensuring compliance
  • Directs the maintenance of the organization's general ledger and oversees monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close and financial reporting.
  • Coordinates with management and other financial functions to develop organizational budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Correspond with banks and other agencies for issue resolution and responses to inquiries in a professional manner.
  • Perform other job-related and management duties as directed by supervisor.
  • Able to effectively solve problems and make decisions based on the best information available, including resolving crisis situations and developing resolutions between parties.

Education & Experience

  • 4 year college education; MBA plus
  • 8-10 years' experience with bachelor's degree; over 15 years with associates degree; or over 20 years of related experience in the industry
  • Minimum five years managing a team of at least 5 individual
