General Definition and Scope of Job
The Medical Imaging Aide assists technologists within Medical Imaging in preparing patients for exams/procedures and during exams/procedures as necessary. This individual acts as an extension of the Technologist within the scope of his/her qualifications and job description.
JOB STATUS: Part Time, 48 hours per pay period, Benefit Eligible
What are the Minimum Skills, Experience and Educational Requirements?
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Current certification in BLS required.
- Previous healthcare experience preferred.
- Experience in radiology or diagnostic/medical imaging preferred.
- Must possess general clerical skills and ability to operate required functions of computer system.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite is preferred.
- Experience with operating in an electronic health record preferred. Experience with radiology-based information system(s) preferred.
- Understanding of basic infection control practices preferred.
- Experience in radiology or diagnostic/medical imaging preferred.
What are the Critical Demands of the Job?
- Required to complete an orientation course and probationary period prior to permanent employment.
- May be required to move from modality to modality and move within multiple departments/areas in performance of job.
- May be asked to work other shifts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
