General Definition and Scope of Job

The Medical Imaging Aide assists technologists within Medical Imaging in preparing patients for exams/procedures and during exams/procedures as necessary. This individual acts as an extension of the Technologist within the scope of his/her qualifications and job description.

JOB STATUS: Part Time, 48 hours per pay period, Benefit Eligible

What are the Minimum Skills, Experience and Educational Requirements?

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Current certification in BLS required.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience in radiology or diagnostic/medical imaging preferred.
• Must possess general clerical skills and ability to operate required functions of computer system.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite is preferred.
• Experience with operating in an electronic health record preferred. Experience with radiology-based information system(s) preferred.
• Understanding of basic infection control practices preferred.
• Experience in radiology or diagnostic/medical imaging preferred.

What are the Critical Demands of the Job?

• Required to complete an orientation course and probationary period prior to permanent employment.
• May be required to move from modality to modality and move within multiple departments/areas in performance of job.
• May be asked to work other shifts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

What are the Working Conditions?

• Medium to high physical efforts.
• Frequent standing, bending, and lifting.
• Manual dexterity and mobility.
• Unpredictable mealtimes. Breaks and lunches are scheduled around patient needs.
