Culture and Climate Assistant

MISSION:

WHO YOU ARE:

Under the direction of the Culture and Climate Specialist, the Assistant works with districts

and schools to help establish programs and initiatives that promote safe, supportive, inclusive, and positive school climates. Primarily, the Assistant works to develop, promote and align social emotional, and behavioral intervention systems to create a positive learning environment and culture.

Do you have what it takes?

• Education and Experience:

• • BA or higher in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling Education, or a related field preferred.

THE ROLE:

• Assist in the coordination and implementation of youth development programs

• Coordinate implementation of research-based social-emotional and behavioral interventions

• Design and implement staff training for teachers and administrators on youth development, school climate, and culture

• Design, implement, and evaluate professional development for teachers and administrators around school climate and student behavior models and social-emotional learning

• Fully support a commitment to equity-centered schools and classrooms, through the promotion of effective practices demonstrated to eliminate the achievement gap for students
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Term of Employment: 12 Months
