Responsible for processing, depositing and reporting all transit revenues in accordance with established policies and procedures. Responsible for the security of all transit revenues and equipment pertaining to collection, storage, and transportation of transit revenue. Count and sort RTD passes for distribution at various RTD sales outlets. Encode and sort RTD 10 ride and other promotional tickets.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL:
  • Receive empty, sort and count transit coin revenue from security counters and fareboxes. Sorting and counting is performed on high-speed computerized coin sorter/counters with internal audit trail. Clerks are to reconcile computerized totals with weight estimates.
  • Receive empty sort and count currency revenue from security counters.
  • Maintains required audit trail. Clerks are required to prepare currency for processing including spotting omitting damaged bills, and sorting of ten ride tickets. Clerks provide reports and balance as required by RTD and U.S. Treasury guidelines. Count and reconcile revenue from RTD Sales outlets and special revenue.
  • Prepare passes for distribution by verifying quantities and serial numbers of passes to be issued.
  • Works in high security environment with limited access in and out of the facility
  • Encode the appropriate MICR codes on the UNYSIS machines for RTD promotional tickets. Use the UNYSIS machine to count and sort MICR code all ten ride and other promotional tickets after they have been received through farebox. Programming the UNYSIS machine with proper MICR codes for sort routines. Record data as required.
  • Operate coin and token wrapping equipment. Responsible for hand sorting any special tokens such as 'easy streets'. Assist the Treasury supervisor in monitoring inventory.
  • Prepare worksheets, count slips, token orders and miscellaneous reports. Fill 10 ride and Free Ride coupon orders. Reconcile any variances, create deposit slips for bank deposits.
  • Unload passes, 10 Ride coupons and supplies from revenue vehicle, storeroom, vendor and stock the same in vault or other storage areas.
  • Assist revenue mechanics in maintaining security equipment and revenues.
  • Conforms to all safety regulations and practices.
  • Responsible for performing operator maintenance on all equipment assignment to the Treasury, including but not limited to cleaning of the coin and currency counters/sorters.
  • Shred tickets and other paper media as requested.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Conducts self in an appropriate manner as a representative of RTD while working in a diverse environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • The ability to pass polygraph test.
  • Must be bondable and able to pass police background check.
  • Must have good mathematical skills, able to operate calculator and have legible handwriting
  • Basic experience with inventory stock.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel spreadsheet.
  • Must have clerical experience including computer data input.
  • Ten key experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Must be able to learn to operate a forklift.
  • Ability to pass a RTD required Physical Ability Asssessment (PAA) related to the physical requirements of the essential functions of the job.
  • Must be able to perform heavy work, including pushing/pulling 1,500 pound of
  • coins located in wheeled security containers and lifting a maximum of 70 pounds. Lifting often is performed in awkward positions approximately 50 percent of the time.
  • Must pass qualifying examinations.
