Transportation Manager

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Transportation Manager to join our team. As a Transportation Manager, your primary commitment will be to lead our Transportation Team in delivering materials as promised, when promised. Your role will involve serving both our valued customers and Transportation employees, ensuring exceptional service and operational efficiency.

Transportation Manager Responsibilities:

  • Uphold safety practices according to DOT regulations and enforce compliance among team members.

  • Lead and inspire your team to maximize efficiencies and be accountable for their performance.
  • Demonstrate a high level of proficiency and efficiency to build trust with employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Foster personal and professional growth among team members.
  • Conduct regular meetings with your team to encourage collaboration, gather input, and generate creative ideas.
  • Embrace a continuous improvement mindset, seeking ways to enhance service and deliverables for both internal and external customers.
  • Provide positive reinforcement to team members, recognizing their achievements and contributions.

Transportation Management:

  • Manage all loads hauled by our company trucks or trailers, ensuring efficient and safe transportation.
  • Coordinate trucking requests and ensure freight is hauled within 48 hours of the request.
  • Supervise our cloud calendar for trucking activities.
  • Oversee and support our trailer tracking system.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of trucking resources to meet service requests and fulfill commitments.
  • Ensure all logistics documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Transportation Equipment Management:

  • Troubleshoot and repair minor problems in collaboration with the maintenance manager.
  • Coordinate repairs with the maintenance department to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain and renew all necessary documentation, such as DOT compliance for trucks and trailers.
  • Organize and manage the trailer yard, ensuring a well-maintained and organized space.
  • Ensure trucks are clean and presentable at all times.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance manager on implementing a preventative maintenance program for the department.
  • Proactively evaluate workload and capabilities, making necessary adjustments to meet demands.

Transportation Manager Position Goals:
