LaAmistad Animate Summer Academy is looking for dedicated, enthusiastic, and experienced lifeguards. We seek professional and caring individuals with the ability to lifeguard and teach swimming in our summer program. Primary Responsibilities:
Instructing students in the swimming pool- Including organizing and directing a 45 minute lesson for 10-15 swimmers
- Be knowledgeable of the swim lesson levels of achievement and the goals for the level at which you are instructing
- Adapt your lesson, as needed, to the needs of the swimmers at the time
- Be open and responsive to instructions from the Animate Camp Directors and make changes to your lesson as needed
- Position Requirements (knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform satisfactorily in the position):
- Ability to work well with children in managing and organizing them to accomplish a task
- Ability to be flexible, resourceful, and adapt to a variety of skill levels and learning styles
- Must be knowledgeable of basic strokes and stroke techniques
Lifeguard Certification
At least 16 years of age

The employee must be able to swim comfortably while also holding on to children. The employee must be able to tread water while also holding on to children.
