Stryker is seeking to hire a Sr. Design Engineer in New Product Development to support Stryker’s Communications division. This role is hybrid, and is located in Flower Mound, TX. Stryker iSuite

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As a Sr. Design Engineer, you will work with OEM suppliers to launch new products for the team. You will also work with customers to understand their needs and provide solutions. You will be working in a variety of products including software, electrical and mechanical. You will design, validate and bring new products to market. Specify precise new product functional requirements; design, test and integrate components to produce final designs; and evaluates the design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability and safety. Design, develop, execute and evaluate fitness-for-use testing, product specifications and process validation plans; creates and reviews material part specifications and bills of materials. Collaborate with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability. Utilize CAD (Computer Aided Design) or CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) systems to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings.

You will also:

  • Translate design inputs to engineering specifications and produce sub-system level designs.
  • Develop and analyze solutions, prototyping one or more options to provide proof of concept.
  • Apply fundamental and some advanced concepts, practices and procedures for problem solving.
  • Demonstrate advanced understanding of customer needs and design inputs.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with product’s intended use and clinical procedures.
  • Learn how the financial models are constructed.
  • Follow fundamental industry standards, design requirements and test strategies which apply to regulatory requirements.
  • Independently create or refine engineering documentation, such as the Design History file.
  • Follow R&D procedure like design controls and risk management, per the Quality Management System.
  • Works as key member of the team, collaborating with others and solidifying relationships
  • Working knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering practices and design principles
  • Technical ability to create engineering drawings and models, applying GD&T and CAE tools.

WHAT YOU NEED:

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.
  • 4+ years of engineering experience working in a regulated industry.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with 3D CAD reading and manipulating drawings (Solidworks preferred).
  • Ability to work independently to solve problems.
  • Experience working with suppliers and end users.
