FocusKPI is looking for a Software Engineer - Backend to join our client's team and for an inquisitive senior software engineer to help bring their biggest ideas to life. You will understand the need to develop tools that facilitate People initiatives and empower a vibrant company culture. You will be a great fit if you have ideas about how to automate and simplify their employees' experience. They are looking for an engineer who has strong technical skills, familiarity with multiple coding languages and is excited to work on projects of all types and sizes. With your ear to the ground and a keen awareness of industry advancements, you are expected to always look for ideas to support the growing team and improve internal culture through enhanced technologies.

Work Location: Remote, anywhere in the U.S.
Duration: 6 months contract
Pay range: $60/hour to $73/hour

Responsibilities:

• Develop an understanding of the systems they use and the needs of employees around the organization, working with the People team to improve the experience of employees working, and demonstrate the value proposition of a given solution you might build
• Troubleshoot technical issues in real-time
• Write documentation and develop best practices in the team
• Build creative technology solutions to transform the way our teams work

Qualifications:

Primary Skills:

• Experience in designing production-level web applications
• 6 to 8 years of relevant work experience
• Proficiency in a backend programming language Node JS with express framework
• Mastery of JavaScript with experience building UIs with React along with experience in Typescript
• Experience in service-oriented architecture/web services (REST)
• Knowledge of SQL databases (Oracle, POSTGRESQL)
• Agile development with Continuous Integration / Delivery (CI/CD).
• Experience in Amazon web services

Secondary Skills:

• Experience with global or large solution integrators
• Knowledge of the Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
• Experience with SaaS/Cloud architectures
• Experience with additional full-stack technologies
