Job Summary

The Senior Learning Technology Consultant invests in the future of Southwest’s People by supporting the Southwest Airlines University (SWA U) Training Team. SWA U is Southwest’s internal training Department, and t his role collaborates with the Learning and Development Team, I nformation T echnology , People (Human Resources) , and other cross-functional teams to ensure our learning technology solutions align with our overall bu siness objectives and integrate seamlessly with our existing systems. The Senior Learning Technology Consultant is passionate about developing our People and utilizes their innovative mindset to drive and champion agile practices throughout the org anization .

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

Responsibilities

Proactively identify new ways to create value through business process improvements and technology enhancements

Translate Customer needs through a deep understanding of priorities, value drivers, and challenges

Drive solutions within a Team/group

Complete assigned and project tasks with limited oversight

Analyze the impact of problems, facilitate resolutions, and escalate to Leadership as needed

Anticipate large-scale, complex challenges within the domain; including risk, dependencies, timelines, scope, etc.

Provide thought leadership to program stakeholders and facilitate strategic decision-making related to program objectives

Establish cross-functional alliances across the Company to drive results

Maintain technical documentation

Build trust and relationships; influence cross-functionally and across diverse teams

May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of cloud-based technologies such as AWS, GCP or Azure

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing Customer and personal services, including Customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of Customer satisfaction

Advanced knowledge of Agile development practices and ceremonies

Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

Skilled in using software tools, such as Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools, and data analysis software.

Skilled in communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders and team members

Ability to provide technical direction to project stakeholders

Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making

Ability to recommend or set strategic direction and influence at the department and enterprise level to accomplish goals and objectives and continuously evolve and move forward a sound strategic vision for the project(s)

Ability to assume a high level of responsibility and to provide direction in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment. Skilled in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
Education

Required: High School Diploma or GED

Experience

Required

Advanced-level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:

Agile Methodologies

Project Management practices and principles

Providing technical project documentation and progress reports

Licensing/Certification

Physical Abilities

Ability to perform work duties from a limited space workstation/desk/office area for extended periods of time

Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job

Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Other Qualifications

Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines

Must be a U.S. citizen or have the authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines

Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $130,750 per year to $145,300 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
