JMT Technology Group, a leading geospatial and information technology services and solutions provider, has an opening for a Senior GIS Analyst with experience. This individual will report to the Hunt Valley office with a remote hybrid schedule


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize analysis capabilities within ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online to perform complex and advanced spatial analysis and distill results into formats that are easy to comprehend
  • Develop Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) tools for data migration
  • Manage the full lifecycle of enterprise GIS data through SDE, ArcGIS Enterprise and Portal
  • Configure traditional or branch versioning with attribute rules and perform edits as needed
  • Create ArcGIS Online/Portal platform applications including Story Maps, Field Maps, Survey 123, Experience Builder, etc.
  • Develop python scripts or use model builder to automate repetitive geoprocessing tasks
  • Create/update Arcade expressions to customize content in ArcGIS applications
  • Utilize third-party software API’s s with ArcGIS Online applications to enhance user experience
  • Create webhooks for advanced notifications within ArcGIS Online applications
  • Develop and implement quality assurance and quality control plans; create high quality cartographic products; read and interpret maps, survey documents, engineering drawings, plans, and sketches; perform global positioning system (GPS) data collection; conduct research; and coordinate with field staff
  • Mentor junior staff and promote efficient and effective ways to execute GIS tasks
  • Work with customers to understand their business activities, workflows, needs and requirements; determines how technology can help meet those requirements and formulates and implements cost-effective solutions
  • Lead tasks that pertain to geographic data development, maintenance, analysis, and custom geospatial applications
  • Assist project and task managers with the project lifecycle, including formulating and implementing project plans/scopes and managing task-based work; monitoring and communicating task progress and risks to the project manager; and supporting project close out
  • Develop training programs, provide user training, and develop technical documentation
  • Provide input on the design of GIS-based software applications and certify that applications meet requirements prior to deployment
  • Effectively present, communicate, and articulate technical information to all levels of the organization, including customers, colleagues, and senior leadership


Required Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of GIS concepts and analytical techniques, including geospatial data creation, conversion, manipulation, and analysis
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, evaluate alternatives, and make sound independent decisions within established guidelines
  • Ability to plan, organize, and execute GIS-related tasks efficiently and effectively while meeting customer requirements
  • Ability to strategically plan and help customers realize their vision
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of geodatabase administration principles and demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise geodatabases
  • Ability to communicate and work collaboratively and effectively with project team members and customers and establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Strong oral and written skills. Ability to present technical information to various levels of an organization
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Access


Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in geography, GIS, computer science, information technology, engineering, planning or related field
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in the application of GIS technology to solve clients’ needs
  • Minimum of two years of experience overseeing others in the delivery and execution of GIS solutions
  • Experience utilizing Esri’s latest suite of technology, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise
  • Experience using GIS to manage assets
  • Experience using GPS technologies and mobile data collection tools
  • Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) certification

Preferred Experience

  • Master’s degree in geography, computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field
  • Certified Associate Project Management (CAPM) certification
  • Experience integrating Enterprise Asset Management software (i.e., Maximo) with GIS
  • Experience with utilities, transportation and/or indoor space management
  • Developing Power Automate Flows integrated with GIS for custom reporting or notifications
  • Developing machine learning models to perform repetitive geo-spatial tasks (i.e., change detection, feature extraction)

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
