This is skilled journeyman work at an advanced level in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment, systems, machinery, and lines in and around Stormwater, Pavement, and Traffic operations buildings and facilities. Work also involves diagnosing and repairing electrical fixtures and other electrical equipment, replacing broken or faulty electrical equipment, disconnecting hot wires using hot stick or rubber gloves, the safe and efficient operation and equipment used in the trade, and may include responsibility for the training, guidance, safety, and lead supervision of assistants on an intermittent basis. An employee in this class must exercise exceptional care to protect their own safety as well as that of other employees.
