Starting Wage: $11.00

POSITION PURPOSE

This position provides superior customer service to donors and customers by contributing to effective store operations.

JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provides customer service
    • Available to assist customers cheerfully
    • Keeps store well stocked and clean, with merchandise appropriately displayed
    • Wears professional attire (knows and complies with the Professional Attire Policy)
    • Knows and follows CGI’s customer service policies and procedures
  • Provides donor service
    • Gives prompt assistance to people wishing to donate
    • Offers every donor a receipt
    • Responds appropriately to questions regarding CGI’s policy on accepting items for donations
  • Communicates merchandise shipment concerns to management
  • Assists Lead Sales Associate with training Sales Associate I candidates for Sales Associate II positions
  • Serves as key holder
    • Ensures that the store is opened and closed at scheduled times
    • Follows all established procedures for opening and closing
    • Safeguards store keys
    • Takes appropriate security precautions when opening and closing the store
  • Operates POS system
    • Verifies cash drawer count
    • May do managerial overrides and voids when management is not available
    • Processes customer sales according to established procedures
    • Understands and follows the Cash Drawer Policy
    • Assists with daily reports and cash deposits
  • Work assigned schedule - Store Hours Monday - Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., Sunday 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., shifts vary
    • On the floor and ready to work by scheduled starting time
    • Understands and follows Attendance Policy
  • Works at other store locations as needed
    • CGI provides advance notice when possible
    • Travel costs are reimbursed in accordance to CGI’s Travel Policy

  • Complies with safety rules and performs duties in a safe manner
    • Understands and complies with the Personal Protective Equipment Policy
    • Understands and complies with all policies and procedures related to safety
  • Complies with Loss Prevention policies and procedures
    • Employee Purchase Policy
    • Bag Check Policy
    • Cash Drawer Policy

May include other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One year retail experience required
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Good written skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse group of individuals
  • Ability to work independently as well as under direct supervision
  • Ability to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
  • Works Assigned Schedule

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • CGI’s POS certification for Sales Associate II

  • Appropriate and effective interaction with staff, management, volunteers and the public

  • Demonstration of increasing level of job knowledge and proficiency
  • Consistently high score on Loss Prevention audits
  • Flexibility in working at other store locations when needed
