Job Summary: This is an NIH funded postdoctoral position available in the laboratory of Dr. Mira Krendel to study the physiological functions of cytoskeletal proteins, primarily myosins, and the genetic defects in myosin-encoding genes that can lead to diseases. We use a variety of cell biological and biochemical techniques, including cutting-edge microscopy methods such as confocal microscopy, Total Internal Reflection Microscopy (TIRF), and Fluorescence Recovery after Photobleaching (FRAP), to probe myosin functions. This position will also provide opportunities for collaborations with biomedical engineers, biophysicists, clinical geneticists, and other clinical and basic science researchers. The successful candidate will have the ability to design and conduct experiments, interpret data, prepare manuscripts, and present results at national and international meetings. Candidates must have a strong interest in collaborative research. Minimum Qualifications:

PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Biophysics, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in microscopy and image analysis, protein purification, or animal models of disease.

Work Days:

Primarily Monday - Friday
