• Must possess the ability to do multiple tasks simultaneously

Job Summary

The Patient Access Clerk will perform all duties associated with the efficient registration of patients requiring services in the outpatient areas.

Duties

• Gathering of correct information to ensure the accurate billing and reimbursement through Patient Financial Services
• Obtain identification, demographic and insurance information from each patient during the registration process
• Knowledgeable regarding outpatient registration
• Request co-payments or cash payments from each patient
• Accountable to provide accurate receipts for payment transactions
• Files any necessary department paperwork according to department guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned

Lifting Requirements:Semi- Sedentary: Sits and walks throughout workday.Generally lifting objects not more than 25 lbs. and/or carrying objects weighing 10 lbs.
