The Neurodiagnostic Specialist I works in Neurophysiology Laboratory and Comprehensive Level 4 Epilepsy Center by NAEC. The Neurodiagnostic Specialist I is board certified in R. EEG T. by American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists, Inc. (ABRET).
The Neurodiagnostic Specialist I performs all modalities of EEG procedures, Special Procedure EEGs (Wada, Pet, Ictal Spect), Continuous Long Term Video EEG Monitoring on adult and pediatric/neonatal population of patients, Invasive - Intracranial Continuous Long Term Video EEG monitoring, assists with Pre-surgical evaluation during Long Term Video EEG Monitoring. Based on operational needs, The Neurodiagnostic Specialist I maybe encouraged to begin cross training process in NCV/QSART/or EP technology leading to obtaining RNCST or CNCT certification in NCV technology.
The Neurodiagnostic Specialist I perform on-call duties for STAT EEGs on weekdays, weekends and holidays as well as provides 24/7 Video EEG Monitoring backup coverage. The Neurodiagnostic Specialist I works under the general oversight of the requesting service neurologist, EEG Division Medical Director and Neurophysiology Laboratory Manager. The Neurodiagnostic Specialist I Demonstrates the MAGIS values through teamwork, effective communication, and problem solving to achieve quality outcomes, customer satisfaction, safety and safe patient care. Annually, the Neurodiagnostic Specialist I completes minimum 10 Continuing Education Units (CEU) recognized by credentialing board of neurodiagnostc technologists, e.g. ABRET, AAET, or ABEM.
