Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm

Tufts Medicine Lowell General Hospital is seeking an experienced receptionist with strong customer service and phone skills that is interested in working close to home, we would love to talk with you about joining our team. The individual must be highly organized with outstanding customer service skills. Must have the ability to multitask and be productive both independently as well as with the team. Accuracy and attention to detail is a must as is the ability to use electronic medical records systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and verify all demographics including insurance information.

  • Collect co-payments, provide patient with receipt and follow office procedures for co-payment reconciliation.

  • Perform Check-In and Check-Out.

  • Answer multiple phone lines courteously and take messages, or transfer call accordingly.

  • Schedule office, ancillary and specialty appointments as requested by providers.

  • Make follow-up appointments for patient.

  • Send out new patient packets.

  • Obtain precertification and referrals.

  • Assist all providers with Meaningful Use, MSSP, and AQC measures.

  • Document within the electronic medical record (EMR).

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years + of office experience: answering phones, faxing, filing, copying

  • Medical office experience is a plus

  • Experience with medical electronic system (any version) is preferred
