Become a Lot Supervisor with First Transit!

Job Purpose or Scope

Serves as First Line supervisors for Operators.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Communicates job requirements and responsibilities to drivers.
  • Observes drivers on the lot to ensure they conduct a proper pre-trip and gives direction to
    Operators with safety concerns to ensure of on time pull outs.
  • Checks vehicles to ensure all equipment is functional (cameras, fare box, etc.)
  • Assists with miscellaneous clerical tasks as needed.
  • Assigns vehicles to Operators and updates Window Dispatchers to ensure information is
    updated in Trapeze and on the DAS.
  • Collect and file white copies from the DVI book.
  • The ability to learn and execute computer skills such as Trapeze program, Outlook and FGA
    University and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Education & Certifications Required:

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Supervisory experience preferred, with 2-3 years of transit supervisory experience preferred
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiar with basic vehicle mechanical processes and maintenance
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Excellent verbal, written and relational communication skills, with ability to appropriately interact
    with employees of all levels including drivers, customers, senior management, client
    representatives, union officials and general public; fluent in English
  • Work extended hours regularly, including Saturday & Sunday
  • Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Essential Job Functions:
    • Use of full ranges of hearing, speech and vision
    • Use of fingers (manual dexterity) handling paperwork
    • Stoop, crouch, squat or kneel when performing inspections of any type
    • Bend at knee, hip, waist when performing duties
    • Stand while performing inspections
    • Be subject to wet, cold or hot environmental conditions
    • Write reports in a coherent, legible way
