Junior Software Developer

Samsill Corporation, a manufacturing company headquartered in Fort Worth and celebrating 70 years in business is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Software Programmer to join our team! In this role, the Junior Software Developer will be responsible for supporting software development in all aspects of the development, testing and implementation of our product. The expectation is that they have the skills to take a business requirement and turn it into a software solution.

Core Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical support expert for custom applications.
• Support and maintain the corporate ERP system.
• Serve as the database administrator for multiple database technologies.
• Troubleshoot, fix and distribute bugfixes in a .Net Technology stack.
• Offer technical support to users when necessary.
• Assist with the research and aid in the development of the corporate technology roadmap.
• Willingness to learn and engage with multiple different technologies including:
  • Physical label generation and barcode standards
  • Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
  • REST and SOAP API
  • IIS / ASP.Net
  • JSON / XML Generation and processing
  • IBM UniVerse Database and UniBasic

Mandatory Job Skills

• 1-3 years of experience
• Proficient with C# .Net with the ability to troubleshoot exiting code, perform bug fixes and expand core functionality.
• Working knowledge of ASP.Net, Ajax and associated technologies especially if this experience is in a mobile environment.
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server or similar relational database
• Familiarity with IIS webserver administration
• Ability to generate and process XML and JSON documents programmatically.

Beneficial Skills

• Exposure to EDI, preferably with the 850/810 and 856 documents. Experience processing structured data would also be beneficial.
