Job Description

Non-Traditional Finance Associate Job Description

Growth company looking for a well-rounded individual with an emphasis in finance. This role will dabble in many areas of business not just the finance realm. Looking for someone that wants to be part of the bigger picture not just the day-to-day routine task. Will you use 90% of your time doing routine work, yes sorry that is reality. However, we want someone to help evolve the company, make suggestions, figure out better ways, and have a strong growth mindset. This is not corporate land as you will have a close connection with the executive level from day one.

Although an entry level to the company, within a few years there will be plenty of opportunity to grow in the direction that best fits you and as well as the company. You can create your own path if you have what it takes and prove your dedication. There is no end to the potential available to the right person. Last hire for this role (just over a year ago) is taking on a new role created within the company that not only helps the company but suits them, so we all win!

Finance Duties Include (don’t worry there is more than just this ahead!!):

  • Handling all bookkeeping day-to-day tasks
  • Managing large volume of deposits, invoices, payments and reconciliations
  • Managing all A/R, A/P, payroll and all taxes (sales and withholding), including accurate vendor management, annual 1099 reporting process, and vendor invoices
  • On monthly, quarterly and annual basis, financial reporting for the owners of the company and department heads: profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow statements, budget vs. actual, A/R aging and A/P aging
  • Preparing bank deposits and conduct bank reconciliations

Requirements:

  • Able to work independently and take initiative (self-starter is key)
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Ability to understand multiple platforms (Microsoft / Video Editor / Web Management / EVERYTHING)
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently
  • Be part of the team and culture

The success of you in this role will come from the willingness to learn and understand the full company not just the day-to-day. Each day will create new challenges in this position, so being proactive is the key to growth not only within this position but within the company.
