Summary:

Lewa America, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager to join our Executive Team. This role is responsible for leading the engineering team, managing and executing projects, and providing leadership and support to other functional areas as the technical expert for pumps and systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Support company goals related to sales, bookings, revenue, profits, planning, and strategy.
  • Provide leadership to team, including, managing, developing, and coaching employees.
  • Lead efforts in recruiting, performance management, goal setting, and compensation planning for team.
  • Develop annual engineering budget and manage department expenditures.
  • Develop, collect, review, evaluate, and report engineering KPI data.
  • Represent engineering during ISO certification audits.
  • Prepare and execute presentations for strategy and annual business review meetings.
  • Monitor project activities and work to find creative solutions to problems.
  • Track department project workload and maintain a global execution / delivery schedule.
  • Provide subject matter expertise as technical pump and system expert to internal and external customers.
  • Manage customer requests for quotation by reviewing RFQ technical and commercial documentation, evaluating scope, and collaborating with sales to evaluate bid-no bid status.
  • Develop comprehensive bid packages that may include equipment selection, layout, technical description, inspection, and testing requirements; commercial clarifications and exceptions list, and other required documentation and bid forms.
  • Manage and execute engineering projects including single or multiple engineered pumps with baseplates, instrumentation, controls, piping, and large complex orders with single or multiple skid packages including pumps, tanks, instrumentation, piping, valves, controls, electrical, and other various process elements.
  • Manage project execution including customer communications, internal communications, project documentation, inspection and testing requirements, material procurement, vendor management, fabrication activities, resolution of technical and commercial issues, budget maintenance, material and labor cost, shipping and logistics activities, quality compliance, code and regulation compliance, non-conformance reporting, project financial reporting, and change order management.
  • Provide engineering support to Lewa aftersales and customers for on-site equipment start-up and commissioning services.
  • Provide engineering support to LEWA operations for equipment testing and troubleshooting related to pump and system projects,

Requirements:


Required Experience & Knowledge:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering with progressive experience in oil and gas, chemical, pump, and/or packaged process systems industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years engineering management experience in the pump / process equipment industry or similar environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years project management experience
  • Minimum 3 years engineering and design experience with process equipment integration, including pumps, piping, pipeline process elements and structural baseplates.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in sales support, specification review, and proposal development.
  • CAD software experience, 2-D and 3-D (Solid Edge is prefered, will accept Solid Works, AutoCad).
  • Proficient with MicroSoft Office tools – Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Project, and Outlook.
  • Experience using Adobe Professional.
  • Experience with relative industry codes and standards (API 675, 674, ASME B31.3, ASME BPVC, AWS D1.1, NEC) CWB, CSA, & CRN are a plus.
  • Basic understanding of typical piping NDE techniques (dye penetrant, radiography, magnetic particle examination).
  • Experience with welded piping systems, welding processes, materials, and associated components
  • Experience with typical industrial automation and control is a plus (PLCs, HMIs, I/O, etc).
  • Experience with FEA, piping and structural analysis software is a plus (Caesar II, Femap, or similar).
  • Ability to prioritize and make self-directed decisions, multi-task, and function effectively under frequent deadlines.
  • Must be able to work through problems from a technical, practical, and business profitability prospective.
  • Must be detail orientated.
  • Excellent personal organizational and verbal / written communication skills.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
  • Ability to travel 10-15% per year, domestic and international.
