Summary of Responsibilities:
The Director of Operations is responsible for the overall supervision of the Operations department at Transformations-Minnesota as well as the coordination of behavioral health services.
Essential Duties:
● Create and maintain culture of accountability by adhering to Company’s Disciplinary Action policies and timely training and retraining of employees.
● Evaluates client discharge surveys in effort to support timely quality improvement efforts, shares results with all Ops department staff, and modifies existing training and patient recreation to meet changing needs.
● Oversees the Environment of Care, working daily to ensure a “1st client/patient experience” for all who come through the doors.
● Adheres to Operations department standardization measures to ensure annual goals and KPIs are accomplished.
● Plan and organize all operations with the Director of Nursing, Clinical Director and Medical Director.
● Ensure that all departments are communicating and working effectively together to maintain the continuity of care for all clients.
● Evaluate performance, productivity, efficiency and organization’s operations.
● Oversee all interaction with outside referral businesses and ensure that the relationship and coordination with these businesses is up to standards, is positive and productive.
● Perform all tours of the facilities and give all necessary information to perspective referrals collectively with Client Services and Clinical Director
● Improves processes and policies in support of organizational goals, implementing new ideas to improve the flow of information with bed space, discharge information within our company and with outside referrals businesses.
● Monitor, manager and improve the efficiency of all support services. Facilitate coordination and communication between support functions
● Work closely with the Director of Nursing and Clinical Director, regarding the day to day operations on a 24 hour basis and then communicate with all appropriate departments.
● Attend weekly meetings with all management/run meetings (rotational basis).
● Issue punitive actions to MHT and Maintenance Tech department staff including coaching, written warnings and termination when necessary.
● Collaborate with the admissions staff on day to day issues that arise with patients and distribute the information to all appropriate parties and all departments’ heads.
● Assist Lead MHTs, therapists and all staff with all decision making after hours when applicable.
● Oversee all emergency response situations: fire alarms, drills, etc.
● Assigns all clients housing to ensure their safety, compatibility, support and comfort.
● Works with all appropriate departments to address any bed sheet/housing issues.
● Plans and organizes weekday and weekend activities for our clients.
● Listens to clients concerning all areas of treatment.
● Works with all appropriate departments to address client issues.
● Organizes activities (recreation/meetings) and transportation for clients.
● Coordinates transport of clients to meetings and activities; coordinates transport of Intakes and Discharges; makes store runs for supplies when necessary.
● Makes Operational recommendations to the Clinical team regarding clients’ well-being and success in recovery.
● Makes determinations regarding client schedules based on unplanned staff shortages.
● Provides input regarding staffing needs and the MHT schedules.
● Assists with creating and achieving short term and long term goals for the Operations Department.
● Provides input as to the growth and development of staff for various positions and responsibilities.
● Facilitates staff trainings and staff meetings.
● Provides additional supervision of Mental Healthcare Technicians and provides feedback on their performance.
● Familiarize new staff to the department and program.
● Communicates with staff either verbally or through written communication.
● Assists in evaluating the performance of MHTs, conducting coaching’s/disciplinary actions, and conducting employee performance evaluations.
● Assists with interventions of clients.
● Assists with the confiscation of items.
● Follows objectives of treatment plans.
● Maintains safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment for clients including crisis intervention.
● Assists with the intake process of new clients into the program.
● Evaluates behavioral and emotional needs of clients and provides input.
● Attends trainings as necessary.
● Coordinates and attends staff meetings.
● Performs clerical duties as needed, maintains files and records concerning client activities.
● Adheres to all company policies and safety rules, guidelines, and procedures.

● Operate a fax/copy machine and telephone
● Operate a passenger van
● Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
● Must be reliable and consistent with attendance and punctuality to work
Minimum Qualifications:
● Valid Driver’s License
● Minimum 2 years’ experience as a BHT/MHT Lead or other leadership position in substance abuse facility
● All employees may be required to work before, during and/or immediately after a natural or man-made disaster
