Medline needs a Senior Director of IT Architecture & Transformation that ensures Medline's technology direction and capabilities are developed to
meet the current and future needs of the enterprise. This role and corresponding organization stewards Medline's technical
capabilities and delivers insights and blueprints while participating in the maintenance and delivery of new and enhanced
functionality. This role also develops and leads programs to enhance and modernize and transform our capabilities to guide the
enterprise in meeting our digital ambitions.

Areas of responsibility include:
IT Architecture practice: Application & Solution Architecture, EA Technology Standards & Rationalization, International EA support,
Application/Technology Lifecycle Planning, Systems Capacity and planning.
DevCOE: DevOps & Test Automation, Development Innovation & Integration COE, Development Platform management, App
Incubation & Delivery.
IT Modernization and Transformation: Develop new IT capabilities, Strategic Programs for Digital Modernization.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership and oversight for the IT architecture function & teams. This function operates globally in setting technical
standards, developing new IT capabilities, identifying and integrating emerging technologies, realizing changes to Medline's overall
technology landscape, and ensuring Medline's systems can support Medline's growth while maintaining overall resiliency and
effectiveness.
Provide leadership and oversight for Development COE function & teams. This function is responsible for maturing Medline's
development practices, standardizing tooling and methodology, promoting and supporting DevOps practice, including tooling,
supporting development platforms, and providing app incubation and delivery services.
Lead and champion the development of new IT capabilities and provide guidance and direction for strategic programs that drive
Medline's modernization and digital transformation.
Establish and maintain the organizational structure and processes necessary to fill the overall charter of the IT Architecture
function(s).
Maintain forecast and actual financials for the IT architecture organization in accordance with the overall IT governance and
information systems budgets.
Evaluates overall risk for technology assets supporting critical business processes and partners across the enterprise to develop the
strategic disposition for the applications.
Develop and lead programs to enhance, modernize, and transform capabilities to guide the enterprise in meeting digital ambitions.

Management responsibilities include:
  • -Typically manages through multiple Managers
  • -Provide leadership and management to one or more major departments of an operating unit or to a department that has system wide accountability
  • -Strategic, tactical and operational planning (12 + months) for the function or department
  • -Direct budgetary responsibility for one or more departments, functions or major projects/programs
  • -Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects; develop, recommend and implement new policies or modifications to
existing policies
  • -Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating
personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational
policies


MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.

Certification / Licensure
None required.

Work Experience
10+ years years work experience in IT or related field.
5+ years of IT management level experience.
5+ years of experience leading an architecture, project management, portfolio management, or organizational change
management function.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Familiar with Technology Marketplace / Ecosystem across a wide breadth of domains such as ERP, Database, Cloud, E-Commerce,
Supply Chain, Logistics, Marketing, and Finance.
Solid understanding of Medline’s business models, processes, organization, and systems.
Experience researching, evaluating, and estimating business systems implementations.
Experience designing and implementing new software as both a technologist and leader.
Solid understanding of project leadership in Classic (Waterfall) and agile (SCRUM) project management practices.
Experience with process design, evaluation, and improvement.
Ability to diagnose and resolve escalated / challenging issues related to systems, projects, and processes.
Metric driven mindset and data / analytical tools such as databases and report development.
Experience transforming systems/platforms for high availability.
Experience directing both onshore and offshore teams.
Solid understanding of application lifecycles.
Basic understanding of financial and revenue models.
Strong prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within and across teams at all levels of the organization.
Expert level collaborative problem solving and negotiation.
Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and influence senior management.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
