Part Time/ Rotating Shifts / 16 hours a week
No late Nights

Maintain current knowledge in area(s) of supervising patient tray assembly areas, tray delivery and pick up service. In the absence of the Retail Services Supervisor supervises and coordinates all activity of personnel engaged in the preparation, serving and clean-up of all cafeteria meals and special functions. Supervises and implements work standards, sanitation and personal hygiene requirements in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Monitors daily all food and refrigeration temperature, dish machine and sanitation logs.
  • Performs opening and closing procedures of the department, maintains opening and closing checklists, and takes corrective action as needed.
  • Responsible for the oversight of day-to-day activities of subordinates and assigns responsibility for specific work or functional activities as directed by on-site management.
  • Reconciles cash drawer(s), monitors cash and safe handling practices and completes appropriate documentation at designated shifts.
  • Monitors patient meal service to ensure exceptional quality, timeliness of service, and problem resolution.
  • Rounds nursing units to monitor floor stocks daily to ensure proper amounts, storage, temperature and expiration of food, as well as, par stock logs for accuracy and any quality of service issues.
  • Participates with management team on-site to build a cohesive, high functioning department through participation in meetings and the building of relationships both inside and outside the department.
  • Ensure staff adheres to LGH Standards of Performance, takes corrective action as needed.
  • Ensures completion of department orientation and appropriate documentation for new employees.
  • Maintains hospital and department time keeping policies, maintains department payroll as assigned.
  • Documents the use of productive, non-productive and OT hours on a weekly basis.
  • Performs food orders as assigned or needed.
  • Provides necessary scheduling of the department.
  • Ensures adequate staffing of department checks in and checks out employees on a daily basis.
  • Ensures employees are adhering to hospital and department uniform standards.
  • Understands and follows all Hospital and Department policies and procedures..
  • Assists in monitoring employee productivity and provides suggestions for increased service or productivity.
  • Monitors retail and catering areas to ensure satisfaction in such areas as quality, service and problem resolution.
  • Promotes the development of the foodservice team and performs timely employee performance evaluations as assigned.
  • Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.
  • Complies with all Hospital and Department HACCP policies and procedures.
  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner using prescribed methods.
  • Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
  • Cooperatively adapts to changes, especially crisis situations such as, shorthanded staff, mechanical failures and disasters.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma Required, Some College or Associate's Degree Preferred
  • 1-3 year of Hospitality, Food Service experience required
