Job Description

Key Role:
Lead a team to operate, maintain, and secure a cloud-based, open-sourced Platform as a Service (PaaS) environment to enable application development teams to deliver features in the most efficient way possible. Lead troubleshooting, operations, and maintenance for Cloud products to support deployed applications and data services. Incorporate open-source tools, automation, and Cloud resources to cut down on tedious, boring operations and maintenance tasks and free up the team’s time to do what they do best – innovate. Leverage an automated continuous integration and delivery pipeline to limit manual testing and troubleshooting. Conduct post-incident reviews, document findings, and act on the learning. Add automation and context to alerts – leading to better real-time, automated, and collaborative response from on-call responders.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with Infrastructure as code, including Cloud Formation, Terraform, Ansible, or Packer
  • 5+ years of experience with AWS services, including EC2, RDS, IAM, S3, or SSM
  • 4+ years of experience with leading a DevOps team
  • 3+ years of experience with Docker, Docker Swarm, and containers
  • 2+ years of experience with web and application server technologies, including Apache, Drupal, or JBoss
  • 2+ years of experience with database technologies, including MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, and SOLR
  • 2+ years of experience with Linux and managing base images
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with customer support or production platform support
  • Experience in establishing or working with help desk type ticket tracking and support processes
  • Experience with identifying technical debt and creating a plan to remediate
  • Experience with application development languages, including Java, JavaScript, and Python
  • Experience with creating product roadmaps
  • Experience with Jenkins Template Engine
  • Experience with creating technical and customer facing documentation
  • Ability to mentor and train junior engineers
  • Bachelor's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $93,300.00 to $212,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
