Position Description:

We are looking for a Designer to join our Water Resources Team to improve infrastructure in our Cleveland office. The candidate must a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering and have at least five years of related experience. The candidate must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after 90 days of employment.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Prepare computer-generated working drawings that are project specific using Civil 3D (GIS, Revit, and BIM experience preferred as well)
  • Assess problems and recommend solutions to CADD related issues
  • Interpret, analyze, organize new design projects and/or revisions to existing projects of varying scales and complexity
  • Create estimated time requirements for projects and attend project-specific meetings to determine CAD schedules
  • Apply the use of technology differentiators (3D modeling, advanced rendering, GIS) in marketing and proposal development
  • Print working drawings using a plotter
  • Provide day to day CADD support and training
  • Monitor client and industry standards and update Wade Trim standards accordingly
  • Assist Project Managers as needed
  • Design pipe for plant and process-mechanical treatment components; for linear distribution, transmission and collection systems; and for other miscellaneous applications when given proper level of direction
  • Perform site civil design activities
  • Perform QA/QC on individual and overall project level production to reflect highest quality being provided
  • Work with and help to develop Wade Trim CADD Standards and libraries including the adoption and implementation across multiple platforms and market segments
  • Provide leadership in the application of technology across multiple platforms and mentor staff on the implementation of technology
  • Show eagerness to learn CADD technologies and engineering concepts to provide flexible project support
  • Perform quantity take offs to assist in cost estimation
  • Maintain a collaborative and dynamic work environment with junior and senior staff in multiple disciplines
  • Communicate with junior and senior level staff in multiple offices on project topics to assure project success
  • Recognize and work to meet project schedules and budgets
  • Maintain excellent client relations
  • Maintain a safe working environment

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering Technology or a related field
