Job Summary


As a Database Administrator, this position will serve as a DBA operational support role in the management of MNIT DOT’s enterprise Oracle database environments to ensure data resources are available, secure, perform, and are recoverable as strategic resources. While performing in the role of a technical specialist performing a broad range of duties which include, but are not strictly limited to planning, installing, testing, and maintaining the system software and hardware necessary to support Oracle databases. The position will work with DBA peers, application development and support, as well as various operations teams, PM’s, BAs, and architects in support of MNIT DOT's Information technology ongoing support and future initiatives. This position will provide Oracle Database administration support that includes system maintenance tasks such as identity access management, database restores and backups for Oracle database servers. This position requires good human relation skills to be able work with many different types of individuals on a day-to-day basis, to lead, take direction and work effectively with them. This position will work independently, it will define problems as they arise, and will recommend and implement or discuss alternative solutions

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a minimum of two (2) years of experience providing database administration and support for Oracle database infrastructure in an IT operational support environment.

Experience must also include the following:

  • Experience working with Oracle databases
  • Experience working with Oracle Database Administrator tools
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related substitutes for two years of experience, OR related Associate’s substitutes for one year.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle 19c Database server
  • Experience with setting up Oracle User accounts, and roles
  • Experience with design, develop, maintain, SQL scripts, and run utilities
  • Commvault or similar backup software
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC), RMAN, Exadata, Data quard
  • General understanding of Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems with the ability to configure and tune
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure
