The Manager-Contracts is responsible for leading a team of Contracts Managers and managing all aspects of the Contracts Managers team including training and coaching team members, workload balancing, and KPI reporting. The Manager of Contracts is responsible for setting a tone of achievement in the team and building relationships with partners, customers, and internal clients within Granicus to maximize revenue results for the company.
What You'll Do:
- Build, manage and coach a high-performing team of Contracts Specialists;
- Ensure contracts and internal client support requests are managed and actioned on in a timely and efficient manner meeting client expectations and any stated SLAs;
- Negotiate high complexity arrangements, contract vehicles and strategic renewals;
- Serve as the escalation point for your team, supporting negotiations directly or referring to legal counsel and contract managers for support as needed;
- Partner with Sales, Renewals, and Client Customer Success to save any at-risk/ late renewals;
- Ensure team’s adherence to contract administration processes;
- Maintain and assist in developing standardized contract templates, playbooks and internal knowledge management resources;
- Provide timely responses to requests from internal clients regarding company policies, legal issues, and risk tolerance, participate in sales training and enablement;
- Assist in establishing and continuously improving policies, processes and procedures supporting contract preparation, negotiation, review, approval and administration; and
- Work with management and other departments (sales, services, operations, etc.) to deliver on global projects and initiatives including new acquisition integration, as well as to ensure effective team execution on new programs, campaigns and promotions.
- Assist with the successful completion of team MBOs and other goals as set by leadership
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree, associates degree or paralegal certificate with 5+ year experience in a SaaS or software company;
- Experience managing a diverse team in a remote or distributed environment preferred;
- Experience in software sales, contracts or renewals required;
- Expert with Microsoft Word; experience with Salesforce and Docusign a plus;
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
- Meticulous attention to detail, ability to manage changing priorities and workflow in an organized fashion and the ability to effectively advance multiple simultaneous projects meeting tight deadlines;
- Comfortable collaborating with and counselling all levels of a professional organization, ability to counsel executive leadership required;
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, customer service and communication (in person, over the phone, and through electronic communications and social media);
- A pragmatic customer-centric attitude, strong problem-solving skills and cooperative team focus; and
- Strong leadership with ability to mentor and support a high-functioning team in a fast-paced environment.
