Job Description

We are hiring for several positions for the 2023 season. Cashier front end/customer assistant positions are available. We are looking for someone who can work weekends as well as some weekdays during our busy season.

Plant loving, upbeat, people person needed to cash out plant loving customers! Helpful if you know how to accurately run a register - if not, we can teach you. Weekend availability is important because that is when our plant fans are shopping. Job Title: Cashier/Front Desk Associate

Reports To: Front Desk Manager

Position Type: Full time or Part time Seasonal

Role and Responsibilities:

Cashiers are expected to be helpful and informative in caring for our customers at the register. Accuracy in all front end functions is required.

Skills:

  • A positive, fun and helpful attitude.
  • Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds, bending and twisting and standing for long periods of time
  • Knowledge of register operation, including cash, credit cards and register receipts preferred
  • Previous experience in a retail store or as a cashier preferred
  • Computer literacy

Responsibilities:

  • Operate registers, scanners, scales and credit card/debit card terminals
  • Memorize product locations throughout the store and be able to direct customers or make suggestions
  • Handle exchanges and refunds in a quick, efficient manner
  • Collect payments and bag purchases for customers
  • Maintain accurate cash drawer
  • Keep the checkout area clean and orderly
  • Receive and tag incoming product accurately
  • Ability to communicate helpful information to our customers in clear and pleasant way.
  • Ability to process coupons, refunds, gift cards and checks
  • Able to handle transactions quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed including weekends and holidays
  • Willingness to do duties assigned by your supervisor or management personnel
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and varied responsibilities
  • Close out cash drawer accurately at the end of your shift

  • Team Focused – Ability to seek guidance from and relay information as necessary to assure outstanding customer service.
  • Service Orientation - Actively looking for ways to help both customers and staff.
