JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION PURPOSE: We are looking for a fearless and accountable Asst. Bakery Team Lead who is positive and passionate! With a focus on providing superior customer service and leading a successful bakery team, the Asst. Bakery Team Lead is someone who strives to meet department goals and objectives while providing customers with product expertise and the freshest, tastiest and best quality bakery products. An Asst. Bakery Team Lead is a responsible team player and always ready to learn. An Asst. Bakery Team Lead can work at a fast pace, has a keen eye for safety and will be able to help execute an assortment of duties throughout the store.

Responsibilities: An Asst. Bakery Team Lead is a responsible, friendly person who can safely work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service.

An Asst. Bakery Team Lead’s responsibilities include:

  • Directing bakery department personnel, meeting department’s goals and objectives

  • Managing and bakery while the bakery manager is not on duty.

  • Communicating directly with the bakery manager, store director and bakery specialist.

  • Ordering the supplies and products necessary to maintain adequate stock levels.

  • Merchandising bakery goods in accordance with bakery merchandising standards.

  • Observing all store rules and company policies directing all team members to do the same.

  • Execute and support all sales and merchandising initiatives.

  • Serving as the leader of his/her department, role model, coach, performance evaluator and trainer for his/her team.

  • Ensuring department and team compliance with heath department and weights and measures requirements.

  • Maintaining a positive and friendly attitude towards customers and fellow team members.

  • Engaging with customers through smiles, greetings, product information, suggestive selling, active sampling and genuine thank yous.

  • Focusing on providing fast and friendly customer service.

  • Processing cash register transactions, giving back change, processing checks, EBTs, and refunds.

  • Using scale printer machine, ensuring weights and pricing are correct.

  • Understanding the importance of and monitoring product pricing, signage, and placement as well as the use of product shelf tags and shelf signage.

  • Keeping a clean, neat and orderly check stand/sales counter and work production areas.

  • Wrapping, boxing, weighing, slicing, finishing, and stocking bakery department products, rotating them as necessary to ensure quality and safety.

  • Taking customer orders, ensuring orders are completed on time and to the customer’s satisfaction.

  • All other related duties as assigned

The Asst. Bakery Team Lead responsibilities will primarily be in the Bakery department but may also work in other departments as needed.

Qualifications:

Desired qualifications include:

  • Friendly and customer service oriented. Interest in food and cooking a plus.

  • Customer service, restaurant, barista, food service, grocery or similar experience desired

  • Self-motivated, with a high attention to detail, quality and presentation

  • Skills to communicate effectively with coworkers and customers

  • Ability to work independently, effectively manage time and multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to read, understand and follow through on verbal and written directions

  • Ability to reliably meet required work schedule and adhere to company attendance policy

  • Must be 18 years of age

Employees may occasionally experience the following physical demands for an extended period:

Standing, Sitting, Lifting + Stocking (Up to 50 lbs.), Pushing, Keyboarding, Telephone Use, Walking, Bending

Salary Ranges:

The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonably expects to pay for the position.

Maximum Pay Rate: $16.10/Hr.
