SUMMARY:

The Assistant Registrar is responsible for supporting all functions related to the Office of Student Records, which includes undergraduate and graduate (future), on and off campus, distance and special programs. The primary duties include the management of student transfer evaluations, maintenance of articulation agreements and transfer roadmaps, and facilitating transfer of coursework while working efficiently within the student information system (Empower). A bachelor's degree is required (master's degree preferred), plus a minimum of 1 year experience in an academic setting, preferably a Registrar's Office. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to a collegial and collaborative administrative leadership style, have proven ability to think strategically, prioritize effectively, act decisively and possess strong written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills. In addition, the successful candidate will have a working knowledge of current records, registration, and enrollment policies and trends, as well as technological developments as they relate to a Registrar’s role.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Evaluates and communicates transfer credit information to prospective, applicant, and current students.
  • Provides information to current and prospective students concerning registration, schedule changes, academic transcripts, credits, grades, and FERPA guidelines.
  • Assists in maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of all college student records (e.g. graduates, withdrawals, and current students of all campuses).
  • Coordinates with the Registrar to develop and implement new systems to support the maintenance of student records specifically related to transfer of credit from other institutions.
  • Orchestrates needs and represents the Records Office in New Student Orientation, Open House, Information Sessions, Commencement, and all other events.
  • Is responsible for all other duties as assigned.
