About the Organization
The mission of Apex for Youth is to deliver possibilities to underserved Asian and immigrant youth from low-income families in NYC. Apex serves students from pre-K to 12th grade in New York City through educational, after-school, athletic, and middle school/high school mentoring programs.
We provide youth with opportunities to develop strong relationships with adults who volunteer as consistent and caring mentors, tutors, and coaches. Ultimately, Apex for Youth aims to nurture youth/teens who will be confident, college and career-ready individuals who are actively engaged in their community.
Apex’s College and Career Access Department prepares our youth to be college and career ready by developing programming that meets the needs of our community and emphasizes exploration and curiosity, expands students’ scope when thinking about their personal, academic and professional goals and prepares them to make informed decisions for their post-secondary path. These programs are run by staff with support from volunteers. The College Access Program Manager will report to the Associate Director of College and Career Success and possess a strong background in working with low-income, first generation youth, college access, and excellent program development and management skills.
