Area: Peripheral Vascular Lab

PRN/Registry

Day shifts- 7a-5:30p, occasional Saturdays, 7:00am-3:30pm

Occasional Sundays/holiday on call, 7am-3pm.

Must be comfortable to work independently on weekends/holidays

About the Job
In this role, the Vascular Tech will have vast experience and proven accuracy results in the field of vascular technology, the ability and willingness to function independently and who is competent in performance of all exams performed by the hospital vascular lab. Obtains and prepares accurate, highly specialized, clinical, diagnostic data using various ultrasound equipment, and uses specific computer programs providing a preliminary pathway for timely clinical and surgical decision making by the physician for excellent patient care.

What you will do

  • Performs non-invasive vascular ultrasound studies; carotid, peripheral arterial, peripheral venous, abdominal vascular, dialysis, access, intraoperative and/or ultrasound guided procedures according to ICAVL standards and current department policies.
  • Compiles and prepares the preliminary report prior to the final reading MD signature.
  • Cares for and maintains testing equipment; cleaning as required by standards and reporting of malfunctions to appropriate service individuals according to policy.
  • Compilation of accreditation correlation data daily as needed for all areas of testing provided in the department. Assist in preparation of the triennial ICAVL accreditation document as needed.
  • Obtains mandatory LUHS competencies and/or educational requirements, maintains active status for re/licensure according to the ARDMS by taking mandatory Continuing Education Units and by providing appropriate copies of all for department personnel files.

What you will need

Required:

  • Associate Degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education
  • 1-2 years of previous job-related experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-5 years of previous job-related experience
  • Specific Degree(s): bachelor's degree in vascular technology preferred. Nursing or allied health field also considered.

Licensure/Certifications

Required:

  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
  • BLS CPR from American Heart Association, ONLY
  • Other: RVT- Registered Vascular Technology certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) is a requirement within 3 months of hire date.
