The facilities group at Tesla Giga Texas is searching for a Transportation Supervisor over Non-Regulated Waste. Come and join us to help accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy!

What You’ll Do
  • Build a strong and motivated transportation team capable of consistently ensuring safe material movements
  • Manage a fleet of rolling stock and work with Maintenance Supervisor and third-party vendors
  • Ensure pre and post trip reports are completed, and any repairs are logged and properly addressed
  • Ensure DOT compliance for drivers and rolling stock, as well as work with Tesla Fleet team
  • Conduct driver assessments, including new hires, ride along, and route observations
  • Implement coaching and corrective actions for transportation efficiency and safety
  • Optimize transportation routing and dispatch
  • Ensure drivers are completing tasks timely manner and logging pickups in dispatch system
  • Ensure all transportation activities follow proper safety procedures
  • Manage third-party transportation vendor support
  • Manage transportation budget and purchase orders
  • Train operators on proper equipment inspection and operation
  • Maintain, utilize and report KPIs for performance management of the maintenance program
What You’ll Bring
  • 2+ year experience managing transportation programs and teams in high volume manufacturing setting
  • 2+ year experience of commercial driving, preferable in waste management, CDL A preferred
  • Demonstrated technical understanding of transportation management, routing, and dispatch
  • Ability to work with and develop production performance metrics (efficiency, quality, safety, throughput, costs)
  • Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
  • Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to be resourceful and get the job done safely under pressure or tight timelines
  • Ability to successfully identify, plan and execute small projects with minimal supervision
  • Ability to enforce and follow all safety rules and regulations
  • Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for 8+ hours per day, wear air purifying respirator as needed for specific tasks
  • Ability to lift at least 10 -20 lbs on a regular basis, perform repetitive hand and wrist motions and sometimes may have to twist and bend body
  • Ability to climb ladders/stairs, Work in loud environment. Must be able to discern audible alarms
  • Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills
  • Displays positive attitudes and practices good work ethics that reflects the mission, philosophy, and goals of the company
  • Fluent with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Safety Certifications a plus (OSHA30)
