Aston Carter has partnered with a entertainment company in Detroit, MI to find a Staff Accountant. This is a 4 month contract opportunity with the potential to be brought on permanently. See the details of this role below:

Description: This position will be covering various departments throughout the organization. The financials will be heavily involved with sales entries for the various entities of OEI. This person will be heavily involved with GL work, and will be diving right into the GL. A good portion of the work will be working with and updating fixed assets as well. This person will have to jump in be able to immediately assist with the GL work and Fixed asset work.

Duties:

• Recording transactions in the general ledger
• Creating and posting journal entries
• Analyzing data from event reconciliation standpoint
• Preparing account reconciliations
• Create daily, monthly or event based sales entries and other miscellaneous accounting entries for account reconciliation and reporting purposes.
• Participate in the monthly close process including preliminary review of financial statements, preparation and posting of adjusting journal entries, and explanation of budget to actual variances.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of Accounting experience
• A bachelors degree is required
• Experience working in Oracle, Workday or Workforce is also preferred
