Collins Aerospace’s Global Engineering & Technology Center in Puerto Rico (GETC-PR) is looking for an entry level Software Engineering professional with a passion for problem solving and delivering solutions that provide compelling gains to the consistency, efficiency, and productivity of product development efforts across the enterprise.

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location and can be worked remotely, within Puerto Rico. Candidate must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Define and review software requirements for flight control systems, including interface requirements.
  • Implement control algorithms and signal processing for flight control systems. This encompasses both hand-coding and integrating auto-generated code from MATLAB Simulink / Stateflow models into a software application.
  • Conduct requirements-based testing of flight controls software.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and less than 2 years prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with model based, object-oriented development embedded software development is desired, as well as familiarity with software requirement and configuration management tools.
  • Experience with MATLAB Simulink would be a plus, as well as general knowledge of aviation and/or flight control systems.
