Objective:

We are looking for a highly motivated database/software developer who will work on our Development Team. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, is teachable, can learn new tasks quickly, and has a background in desktop application development and relational database development.

This role will be working on the FileMaker platform and while FileMaker experience is preferred, it is not necessary. Although we are a 35-year-old company, we have grown considerably since 2008. We seek a capable software developer to help us continue that success.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The main focus of the Software Developer is to be involved in all aspects of developing our FileMaker-based software solutions: including database architecture, scripting, and user interface design. The developer works in conjunction with our team to develop our in-house software to enable our staff to work more efficiently and to engage with our clients more effectively. As a software developer in a growing company, you will be able to see the direct impact of the work you do and how it benefits others.

A typical day in this role will involve multiple aspects of software development. During the course of a day you may modify our in-house software as you write a script to add a new button on a user interface. You may add fields to a database table to expand our data collection. You may create a new layout to provide a report of existing data. You may integrate a third-party API into our database, or publish an internal API. As you grow in this role you will be managing a variety of tasks throughout the application structure.

In this role you will:

• Work with team members and leadership to pursue development priorities

• Take ownership of a project to design, test, document, and implement new functionality

• Update, troubleshoot, and maintain existing software functionality

• Provide input on database development planning and architectural decisions

• Become a domain expert and grow throughout the tech stack

Functional Qualifications:

• At least two years in a role that included writing production-grade software

• At least two years in a role that included working with relational databases

• Bonus: Experience with FileMaker application development

• Bonus: Experience with Typescript

• Bonus: Experience with API integrations

• Comfortable on a Mac Computer
