Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opening for a Senior IT Site Administrator at our Iron Units location in Toledo, OH. The Senior IT Site Administrator ultimately oversees and is accountable for all technology in use at the plant, both user-facing and back-office technologies. This position will be responsible for end-to-end IT user satisfaction onsite and will be responsible for the work done by other IT employees/contractors assigned to the plant location.

The Senior IT Site Administrator is a member of the plant leadership team and is expected to attend and contribute to leadership meetings. The Senior IT Site Administrator is also a key member of the IT End User Experience organization and will take direction from this group, and in doing so, adhere to and promote corporate governance processes, disciplines, and methodologies. Considered by users as an expert of plant-based and corporate-provided technologies, this position will actively promote the “One Cliffs” philosophies of consistency and standardization where appropriate.

The Senior IT Site Administrator will have the capacity to handle multiple projects in either a hands-on or oversight/project management capacity. Such projects may be run simultaneously. This position will plan and prioritize work accordingly to ensure high quality products are delivered on time and to the desired specifications.

The Senior IT Site Administrator will also establish a partnership with the IT Site Administrator at Cliffs Tubular facilities in Walbridge, OH and Columbus, IN in a shared support model as needed.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear and concise written and verbal communication openly and frequently with users, Site and IT management and other IT team members.
  • Implement and provide post-implementation support for corporate and site applications, systems and technologies.
  • Remain continually customer focused. Follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Perform work in accordance with Cliffs best practices and policies.
  • Manage, troubleshoot, plan, prioritize and track work efforts to ensure the timely resolution of user requests and problems.
  • Project Management
  • Track and manage projects using Cliffs methodologies and resources.
  • Deliver on time and on budget.
  • Provide user training when necessary.
  • Install and support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems in tandem with Network resources.
  • Maintain system efficiency.
  • Design and install systems that allow all components to work properly together.
  • Collaborate with vendors as new systems are put in place.
  • Obtain and manage documentation required to offer continued support.
  • Make and accept recommendations for future upgrades and perform or manage these upgrades when possible.
  • Monitor networks to ensure resource security and availability.
  • Manage all site data as necessary to ensure security, availability and accuracy. Promote the use of technologies to improve collection, analysis and decision making based on such data.
  • Evaluate and modify system performance.
  • Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security.
  • Lead technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within existing technologies.
  • Ensure network connectivity throughout a company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations.
  • Maintain servers as required.
  • Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, switches, portable handheld devices, wireless access points, network cameras, desk phones, premises security, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of hardware and software assets.
  • Contributes to the value of the entire working team through thoughtful discussion and collaboration.
  • Considered a leader amongst peers by providing solid examples of work habits and practices.
  • Takes on a leadership role in multi-site projects.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Performs other tasks as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a technical field with:
  • Active Directory
  • Server and Network administration
  • Desktop technologies
  • Wireless technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experienced in:
    • Project Management
    • Active Directory
    • Server and Network administration
    • Data Center technologies (power, cooling, facilities)
    • VoIP Telephony and Paging
    • Premises Security (gates, cameras, door)
    • Desktop technologies
    • Computer controlled industrial technologies
    • Wireless technologies
