JOB SUMMARY
Process Month-end duties including preparation and completion of Journal Entries and Financial Reports relating to fixed assets (e.g., property, plant, and equipment; construction in process) and other long-term assets (e.g., software and intangible assets). Support Year-end Audit by creating and updating schedules to support our financial results. Perform Account Reconciliations that substantiate the values on the Balance Sheet for fixed and other long-term assets. Ensure processes produce correct GAAP accounting and have sufficient documentation for both the procedure and the purpose, relating to fixed and other long-term assets. For fixed and other long-term assets: own key process such Month-end, Account Reconciliations, Year-end Audit, etc.; support business initiatives that impact accounting and systems; and lead continuous improvement efforts across accounting function across our entities.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Year-end audit support including updating SAP, preparing/updating schedules, and preparing sections of our audited statements for fixed and other long-term assets.
• Prepare and/or approve monthly close data, journal entries, and account reconciliation for fixed and other long-term assets. Analyze operating financials, interpret results and recommend a plan of action to improve the accounting process for fixed and other long-term assets.
• Perform Account Reconciliations designed to provide a Strong Control on the Balance Sheet for fixed and other long-term assets.
• Serve as backup for key individual(s) in the Corporate Accounting Department.
• Provide Accounting (GAAP and Medline Internals) and process expertise to the company for fixed and other long-term assets.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts across accounting function including subsidiaries for fixed and other long-term assets.
• Act as corporate owner of a key accounting process and provide guidance and support to our subsidiaries for fixed and other long-term assets. Examples include Consolidations, Month end/Year end schedule, Account Reconciliations, and Accounting Master Data.
• Serve as a main point of contact for our business partners on fixed asset related topics. This includes managing communications for physical asset listings/counts, asset capitalization/retirement, as well as other fixed assets transactions/controls.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Relevant Work Experience

• At least 2 years of Corporate Accounting / Manufacturing Accounting experience.

Additional

• Expertise in GAAP accounting for fixed and other long-term assets, including internal controls
• Experience at a large manufacturing, distribution, or other fixed-asset heavy company.
• Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: PowerPivot, PowerQuery, index/match, pivot tables, multiple if statements, financial modeling).
• Able to work with large amounts of data.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education

• Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Certification / Licensure

• CPA, CGMA, CMA

Relevant Work Experience

• Strong expertise in overall GAAP.
• Sarbanes Oxley 404 (SOX) internal controls experience, heavily focused on fixed assets.
• SAP, AS400, and QAD system experience; SAP strongly preferred.
• Change Management experience.
• Project Management experience.
• International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) experience.
