Arctic Harvest Deliveries is a small, inclusive, Anchorage-based, farm-to-table distribution company. We are a values-driven business that focuses on working with local farmers to create new markets for their products. Our mission is to support local farmers and help expand the viability of the agricultural industry in the state.

We source and distribute a variety of products, including produce, meat, eggs, milk and other locally grown, raised, harvested and made foods. We distribute wholesale to restaurants, lodges, and independent grocery stores, as well as direct-to-consumer through our subscription Farm Share program.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a skilled, self-motivated and strategic-minded Sales Manager to represent our company in the wholesale marketplace. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in B2B sales, particularly in the food industry, and a deep understanding of the produce market. As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining relationships with current clients, generating new leads, and closing sales deals without using high pressure sales tactics.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Maintain customer relationships and recruit new customers
  • Negotiate contracts with customers and possibly farmers
  • Meet monthly sales targets
  • Spearhead new revenue streams such as a corporate gifting program
  • Work with the Operations and Administrative Assistant to ensure customer orders are received throughout the week
  • Provide detailed information to customers about our products including where products are grown, farm names and growing practices
  • Analyze market trends and consumer behavior to identify new business opportunities
  • Represent the company at events and trade shows

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of produce, local food or agriculture
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Highly experienced in customer service and/or sales
  • A friendly, professional attitude and non-aggressive sales tactic
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Problem solving should come naturally
  • Adaptability and the ability to maintain poise in difficult situations
  • Valid driver’s license

Schedule

This is a part-time, seasonal position. Hours are flexible and working from home is possible. Monday – Friday, approximately 20 hrs per week, June – December. Some limited hours may be available throughout the winter.

Compensation

Base salary starts at $2400/month, with the opportunity of an additional $4000 - $8000+ in commission and bonuses over the season. Benefits include a weekly Farm Share subscription (valued at $49/week), 1 week's PTO, and 3 paid sick days.

Commission structure is tiered, with the opportunity to earn an end of season bonus based on sales goals reached.
