Your responsibilities

  • Regional Category Manager positions offered by ABB Inc. (Memphis, TN). Direct purchasing, warehouse, distribution, financial forecasting, ABB supply chaining activities. Responsible for crafting and executing sourcing strategies for assigned commodities and factories within ABB ELIP (Electrification Installation Products) US (United States ) / LATAM (Latin American) region. Serve as the supply chain and quality market expert for ELIP. Analyzing exiting procedures to drive innovation and streamline supply chain processing. By partnering with the global supply chain and quality team, this role supports and executes our strategic sourcing initiatives.

Your background

  • Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or a related engineering field and 7 years of experience in the position offered or 7 years of experience working with manufacturing suppliers across Asia, Europe and USA. Also requires 7 years of experience using SAP and LX ERP’s in a Supply Chain (Materials Module) and Quality Focused Module (Quality Module) for manufacturing. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience as stated above, employer will accept a master’s or foreign equivalent degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or a related field and 5 years of experience as stated. Also requires 5 years of experience: performing procurement, materials management or supplier quality engineering in a high-volume manufacturing environment; using at least 3 of the following processes: Rubber Extrusion, Injection Molding, Aluminum Die Casting, Investment Casting, Forging, Machining or Stamping Suppliers; working with technical engineering product drawings using engineering software platform; performing product cost reduction and improving quality and working with Global Product Lifecycle Management (GPLM) software to study engineering drawings; and using Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, Vlook-up and comparative tables as well as at least 2 of the following: MATLAB, Power BI, Power Query, SQL, and Regression & Forecasting Analysis tools. Up to 50% travel (International included). Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently. Employee reports to office in Memphis, TN. Position may work from home, but must live within commuting distance of stated office.
