Job Summary:

Woman's Hospital is seeking a full-time Public Relations Coordinator to join our marketing and communications team. This individual would be responsible for proactive media relations activities, as well as developing and enhancing relationships with media representatives.

Other duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responds to media inquiries in a manner that represents the organization in a professional manner.
  • Coordinates interviews with hospital personnel and volunteers and escorts media representatives in Woman’s facilities.
  • Serves as media relations contact on-call to respond to media inquiries during the day, after hours, on weekends, and on holidays as needed.
  • Researches, writes, and disseminates news releases, feature stories, photo releases and story pitches to appropriate news media outlets.
  • Monitors all media activity and placements related to Woman’s, its competitors, and issues affecting the healthcare industry, especially as it relates to Woman’s service lines.
  • Ensures timely and convenient distribution of relevant media clips.
  • Develops and manages editorial content calendars and distribution plans.
  • Works in coordination with marketing and communications colleagues to execute campaigns, increase volume and build awareness.

Assists in writing and/or proofreading materials for other uses to include marketing collateral, blogs, website, internal communications channels, social media, annual reports, etc.

Job Knowledge:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including a thorough understanding of correct grammar and AP Style, and the ability to write news releases, feature stories, pitch letters, statements, and talking points.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external audiences and create targeted messages for a variety of mediums.
  • Knowledge of local news media operations, social media, and current trends and practices in marketing, public/media relations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changes in information or priority, and the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Education:
    Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in a communications or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum Work Experience:
    Requires a minimum of 3-5 of experience in communications/public relations. Healthcare experience preferred.

Monday - Friday

Pay Range:

$47,600 - $69,097
