Manages network elements for voice and data networks and monitors and evaluates capacity utilization for these networks. Submits capacity triggers as necessary. Forecasts and trends bandwidth growth to produce capacity triggers for bandwidth relief. Develops plans to augment capacity relief as needed.

• Primary planner for the SS7 Network including STP, SGX and SCP platforms.
• Monitoring/managing SS7 platforms. When required, issuing circuit orders for install, augment, and/or disconnect of SS7 links.
• Works with external vendors and internal customers on creating hardware and software solutions for the SS7 Network.
• In depth understanding of STPs, SGX, SCP, SCE, SMS, CVAS, and ELAP/LSMS. Along with having a basic understanding of Voice Mail Platforms.
• Being the liaison between Network Planning and Operations. Providing a direct connection between Planning and Operations to ensure that t is adequate support of SS7 hardware and software.
• Providing the SME level knowledge on all SS7 Network Platforms and giving guidance within the SS7 Team
• Understanding and managing connections of devices from internal SS7 Platforms to External Platforms and supporting any switch initiatives.
• Provide support on negotiating SS7 vendor contracts that support items such as CNAM and ISUP queries.
• Leading consolidation efforts for the SS7 Network

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and relevant experience
• 7+ years of related experience
• In depth knowledge of SS7 protocols such as ISUP, and TCAP along with understanding of CNAM, LIDB, CVAS, and SRP/MRF databases.
• General telecommunications knowledge
• Proven ability to work independent of supervision
• Able to guide and give fellow co-works feedback in a constructive manner
• Microsoft Office Applications
• Proven ability to handle moderately complex planning/engineering assignments without direct supervision

• Inventory systems such as TIRKS, LIMS, PRO
• Circuit order systems such as CORE, BPMS, etc.
• Netbuild, SAP and Fireworks Project Creation
