The Pastry Baker is responsible for all aspects of the donut process from beginning to end. From making dough, frying, decorating, prepping and everything in between. The Pastry Baker works directly with the Pastry Chef who will direct them every day on quantities and tasks. The Pastry Baker must be extremely organized and familiar with working with large batch recipes and have attention to detail.
Description:
Cut, proof, bake and Fry various types of dough per company standards and instructions laid out by the Pastry Chef
Follow the production numbers given each day by the Pastry Chef.
Visually identify quality or bad product before and after it is fried or handed off to the decorators.
Ensure counts are done throughout each shift to double check that accurate amounts of donuts were cut, proofed and fried.
Communicate with kitchen leads to cross check and troubleshoot quality and production numbers.
Ensure cleanliness of work areas including but not limited to tables, shelves, equipment, walls, and floors.
Ensure maintenance of equipment and tools used daily and report any malfunctions to the Pastry Chef immediately.
Complete and submit cleaning checklists at designated times.
Other related responsibilities as assigned.
