The Scharine Group Inc is a leading manufacturer of custom material handling equipment located in Whitewater, Wisconsin. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Project Cost Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating the cost of custom metal fabricated dolly and rack projects, preparing proposals, and working with others to ensure projects are completed within budget and timeline. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating projects involving the use of a variety of metal fabrication technologies, exceptional attention to detail, reasonable computer skills, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

• Review documents, specifications, and CAD designs to determine project scope and requirements
• Prepare cost estimates for all aspects of product designs
• Collaborate with the project team and other estimators when necessary to develop accurate cost estimates and proposals
• Obtain pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
• Create detailed project budgets and schedules
• Communicate with customers directly or with company sales people to clarify project requirements and resolve any issues
• Review project progress against estimates and adjust estimates as necessary
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
• Provide regular reports to management regarding project costs and progress

Qualifications:

• Associates degree from a two year college or technical school and 5 years metal fabrication experience or an extended work history demonstrated in a metal fabrication job shop environment.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating metal fabrication projects preferred.

• Strong knowledge of raw materials, methods, and procedures

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to read and interpret documents and CAD designs

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
